The Government has been urged to consider a special ‘staycation’ package to promote domestic holidays and salvage something from the pandemic-hit 2020 season by one of Ireland’s most successful marine tourism operators.
Kerry tourism operator Paul Devane warned that it was “absolutely critical” the Government offers hope and positivity to an industry facing the worst losses in over a century.
Ireland’s most tourism-dependent county has estimated that visitor numbers will plummet by 80pc this year because of the Covid-19 crisis.

We will be operating our Skellig Michael non-landing Tours around both islands once restrictions have been lifted.
We will be following the guidelines from the WHO when operating our tours. We carry a maximum of 12 passengers per boat and can provide the recommended distance for passengers while on our boats.

The opening date for Skellig Michael Landing tours for this season – 2020 is uncertain at the moment.
We are awaiting confirmation from the office of public works to see if we can travel to Skellig Michael for this season 2020 while ensuring that the guidelines form the WHO are adhered to.
Once we receive futher information we will update this site immediately.
We will be operating tours around both island where we are confident that physical distancing is possible as we carry a maximum of 12 passengers per boat with seating both inside and outside for customers.

Here at Skellig Michael Cruises we ran our last tour of 2019 around skellig yesterday (the 17th of November), we had a really great trip to Skellig Michael today with this lovely group of people from Germany who came to Ireland for the weekend on a cold but really spectacular November day. Our tours will begin again in mid March 2020.
